Happy Fiercely Free Friday! Have you ever felt that you weren't living your God-ordained life because of the thoughts and opinions of people, places, or things? To take it a step further, rather than living the life God has purposed for you, you are challenged with being who 'people 'expect you to be.
I recently had the opportunity to interview one of the authors of 'Queens Who Defied the Odds,' Pastor Linda K. Brown. We had an amazing conversation on air. Let me pause and say the off-air discussion powerfully rejuvenated and renewed my 'why.' Anyone who knows me can understand that I love encouraging people. One will often hear me say that despite the hard knocks of life, 'trust God and allow Him to navigate the action steps He has purposed for you.'
As we chatted on and off camera, the memories of how instrumental she and Dr. Robert Earl Brown were about purpose flowed uncontrollably! When God impacts your life with people who have no agenda but want to genuinely see you walking unapologetically in the fullness of God's plan for your life is so very humbly. As I was sitting there, this powerhouse says to me, 'I want to interview you to tell your story.' While I have several, she reminded me of one that astonished me and almost brought me to tears. We go through various challenges in life, but many of us keep pushing through. As the Visionary Author of 'Queens Who Defied the Odds.' She reminded me of its significance and what God was doing with this project. My mind was blown. Let me just say for the record, there is more to come.
As part of our maturing, our willingness to stay the course by walking
and growing through what we experience empowers us to find ourselves, love ourselves, and forgive ourselves. This growth step also encourages us to break down the walls that try to stagnate us and press forward with purpose and on purpose.
On this fiercely free Friday, may you be inspired to stay the course by recognizing that embracing your unique purpose guides your life decisions, influences your behavior, shapes your goals, provides a sense of direction, and creates meaning. How powerful!!! When people ask you who you are - tell them! When people ask you where do you belong? Tell them! When they ask if you are living life on purpose, courageously tell them, 'Yes.' As my sister-friend, Linda told me, I moved past the stuff and have learned how to turn 'scars into stars!'
