Fiercely Free Friday

What does peace mean to you? As you might imagine, peace means many different things to people. I'd like for us to give attention to peace as it relates to rest. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines peace as "a state of tranquility or quiet," while the Oxford Dictionary defines it as "the state of being calm or quiet." In many cases, peace implies a state of harmony, quiet, or calm with no hostility. My reference to peace on this Fiercely Free Friday is to inspire you, my beautiful sisters, to intentionally discover a level of tranquility that changes the way you see the world around you, how connected you are with yourself, and how you interact with others.

So how does your body let you know rest is needed? Do you have racing thoughts? Are you plagued with worrying? Is your mind constantly on the next action step to be taken? While many of us can relate to these signals, it does not supersede our taking time to rest. Taking meaningful moments to rest is a process of achieving peace of mind and inner calm and inviting powerful moments of quiet for more serenity.

We owe it to ourselves to incorporate rest as a part of our wellness toolkit.
