How often have I echoed, 'Self-care is NOT an option; it IS a necessity!' I've been thinking about this for a long time and wonder how many of us recognize its importance. What does a perfect day look like for you? How do you find inspiration? How do you spend your days?
How many of you have moved away from shallow friendships to meaningful ones that nurture and support you? How many have you experienced the value of becoming numb to unimportant distractions?
The reality is this - we can become so disconnected from our environment and relationships that we may forget what living our dreams look like. The question then is this: If you are not making time to live your dreams, what needs to change?
As I quietly sit on the dock of such a beautiful oasis on the heels of a fantastic week of self-care, relaxation, refueling, and rejuvenation, I am grateful for God's blessings upon my life. Nature is one of my loves, and as a city girl, I welcome the beauty of water, sunrise, and sunsets and hear the chirping of the gentleness of the birds. To listen to a hummingbird sing was terrific.
My sisters, I encourage you to take time for yourself. Little by little, be more authentic with yourself, discover the things that bring you joy, and live your dreams - even if it's little by little, get your happiness back.
