Fiercely Free Affirmation
"The blessing of authentic friendships is not in an outstretched hand, a kindly smile, or the joy of companionship; it is in the spiritual inspiration that comes when one discovers that someone else believes that they are good enough and that they matter." – Cheryl A.S. Hurley
Recognizing that we always have the power of choice is liberating. It means that you can decide to walk in your truth by being your most authentic self, embrace that you are good enough and that you matter, where you want to go in life, and call forth your greatness through the choices you make. As easy as it sounds, what tends to get in our way of being our most authentic selves?
Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy teaches us that each moment presents us with a choice. We can step forward into growth or remain stagnant or in a place of being stuck; which would you prefer? To dwell in your comfort zone or step out in faith and walk in your truth?
I've often heard we become the persons we are through our decisions. But how do we find God's way in our lives? Do we intentionally listen to that small still voice guiding us? Do we struggle with making choices that are in tune with God's purposes? Here’s a fact: God gives every person a free choice and free will to live as we desire. That gift of freedom is the greatest gift that He can provide. God wants us to choose because we love Him, obey Him, and make our decisions within the blueprint of His will for our lives.
When we reflect on choice and authenticity, one of the essential aspects of building an authentic life is finding a way to remove some of the barriers we create and spend more time nurturing ourselves. The heart of authenticity involves:
Developing and deepening self-awareness.
Embracing our unique differences.
The ability to live authentically.
Despite the difficulties that confront us, an authentic life is one in which we live with a greater degree of presence and understanding that empowers us to exercise choice and unapologetically walk in our truth. The question is: what action steps do you take to feed your soul and walk in truth? Consider these three steps:
Identify the things that inspire you to exercise choice and walk in your truth.
Look deeply to recognize the barriers that limit you from being your most authentic self.
If money, time, excuses, or the opinions of others weren't an issue, what would you be doing with your time?
Call to Action:
Take time to get to know yourself.
Exercise choice.
Be your most authentic self daringly.
Based on your body's story, purposely integrate action steps that nurture your MIND, BODY, and SPIRIT and empower you to go out and be fiercely fabulous!
