Sometimes, what’s holding us back isn’t a lack of opportunity — it’s a lack of room to receive it. Growth needs space to breathe, and your soul needs room to stretch.

For many of us, especially as women, life can feel like a never-ending cycle of doing, giving, and going. We pour out, show up, and hold everything together — sometimes at the cost of holding ourselves together. But here's what I’ve come to learn on my own journey of purposeful living: personal margin is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

Margin is that intentional space we create — not just on our calendar — but in our hearts, minds, and spirits. It’s where clarity lives. It’s where peace speaks louder than pressure. And it’s often where God does His most beautiful work in us.

I used to believe that saying "yes" to everything and everyone meant I was walking in purpose. But I’ve learned that purpose isn't proven by how busy I am — it's revealed in how aligned I am. And alignment needs room. Real growth happens when we release the guilt of slowing down and embrace the grace of creating space.

Margin reminds us to pause. To listen. To breathe. It helps us say no without apology and say yes to what truly matters. It protects our peace, preserves our purpose, and fuels our power to rise.

When we clear the clutter — physically, mentally, emotionally — we don’t lose ourselves, we find ourselves. We create breathing room not to disconnect from life, but to reconnect with what gives us life.

And isn’t that what living on purpose is really about? Not performing for approval, but positioning ourselves to hear God's whisper… to nurture what feeds our soul… and to walk forward refreshed, clear, and unapologetically grounded.

“When you protect your personal margin, you protect your peace, your purpose, and your power to rise.” – Cheryl A.S. Hurley

Friend, this is your gentle reminder: You were never meant to be everything to everyone. You were created to be whole, well, and deeply rooted in who God designed you to be. Margin isn’t empty space — it’s soul space. And I pray you give yourself permission to create it.

With Grace and Purpose,

Cheryl A.S. Hurley
