When Your Passion Becomes Your Purpose

Sometimes our purpose doesn't arrive with a grand announcement. Instead, it quietly unfolds through the things we naturally love to do. That was certainly true for me. When people ask how Total Praise Event Planners LLC began, they often expect a carefully crafted business plan. The truth is, it started with a heart that simply loved serving others through creativity.

Long before I owned a business, I enjoyed creating baby shower décor, centerpieces, invitations, and party favors that I sold on Etsy. I loved seeing simple ideas become beautiful expressions of celebration, but I never imagined those small projects were preparing me for something greater.

Then came my husband's surprise 50th birthday celebration.

As I planned every detail...from the décor to the guest experience, I realized something unexpected. While many people see event planning as stressful, I found it peaceful. Organizing, designing, coordinating, and bringing every element together filled me with joy. The celebration was a tremendous success. Throughout the evening, guests kept asking, "Do you have a business card?" I smiled politely, thanked them, and honestly didn't think much of it. I simply continued helping family and friends whenever they needed someone to bring their celebrations to life.

God, however, wasn't finished writing my story.

The turning point came when I planned my sister's surprise 50th birthday celebration...a glamorous Harlem Nights-themed event that required a much larger vision. Knowing the scope of the project, I invited my friend, Ms. Wanda, to help. Looking back, that decision was one of the greatest blessings of my journey.

Today, Ms. Wanda serves as my décor expert and business partner at Total Praise Event Planners LLC. As we worked together, we discovered something deeper than a shared talent. We shared a passion for creating unforgettable experiences that honor life's most meaningful moments. That was the moment I realized event planning wasn't simply something I enjoyed. It was part of my purpose.

At Total Praise Event Planners LLC, our faith is the foundation of everything we do. As a Black-owned business built on faith, creativity, and excellence, we believe every gift we have comes from God. That's why we strive to give Him total praise in everything we accomplish. Our mission is simple: Give us your vision, and we'll bring it to life. Every event tells a story. Whether it's an intimate gathering, milestone birthday, wedding, anniversary, baby shower, corporate event, or community celebration, we believe every detail matters because every person matters.

We offer event design and décor, guest table styling, food and dessert stations, DJ coordination, invitations, favors, day-of coordination, and full-service planning. Through trusted partnerships with caterers, photographers, makeup artists, hairstylists, DJs, and other professionals, we help remove the stress so our clients can fully enjoy their special moments.

Understanding that every celebration and every budget is different, we also offer multiple planning packages, customizable add-on services, and rental options including linens, charger plates, chafing dishes, and other event essentials for those who prefer to coordinate their own events.

Looking back, I realize God was preparing me long before I recognized my calling. What began as helping family and friends eventually became a business that allows me to serve others while honoring Him. Perhaps that's the encouragement I want to leave with you today.

Don't overlook what comes naturally to you. The gifts that bring you joy may very well be the seeds of your purpose. Sometimes God uses what feels ordinary to prepare us for something extraordinary. Purpose often reveals itself one faithful step at a time.

As you continue your own journey of purposeful living, remain open to where God is leading. Your passion may be more than something you enjoy. It may be the very avenue through which He intends to bless others.
